Through God's Lens: Compassion

Kids generally understand what is being kind and being nice, but what about compassion? This series aims to teach kids what compassion is and how we believe in a kind and compassionate God - Jesus’ own life was marked with compassion. This series also aims to see kids follow in the example of Jesus’ actions when He was living on earth.

Through this series, we will explore what compassion means and how that can look like in the daily lives of the children. What sets compassion apart from simple kindness or even sympathy is that compassion will drive us into action! Compassion has an active component to it, and it gets us involved. When we share in another person’s pain, we are stirred to be the change for the person in pain and/ or suffering.

Through this series, we hope for the children to learn to have a heart of compassion for others which will drive them to take action to help others instead of choosing what is convenient.

Series Aim: To teach kids what compassion is and be driven to follow in the example of Jesus’ life that is marked with compassion.
